As some of you might have realized by now, the Tokyo Auto Salon is some kind of marvellous freak show where racing teams, parts or accessories manufacturers, tuners and the weirdest custom car builders in Japan share space for a 3-day totally over-the-top car show.

Not sure, but they are located in Okazaki. And I happen to also LIVE in Okazaki :)

So I’ll go ask when I have some free time. They are located 10 minutes away from my home. My guess is custom panels on a Fairlady Z chassis... They also did a 250 GTO based on a 240Z

It’s apparently based on an s140 Toyota Crown. My favorite one this years NATS cars is probably that Testarossa Honda Beat.

I took like 400 photos, so I am still posting stuff on the front page. Lots of articles still to go.

One thing I was super disappointed about was the lack of 92-2001 era Honda in classic JDM style. I only saw that one EF and no EGs, EKs, or even EPs. Lots of Fits, lots of S660s, fair number of N-series, and that one Accord wagon.

Like, really, just a bit more wang and POW, and some side bits, and a lengthening of the wheelbase, and it would make for a good way to tear up the tight streets of Japan and/or Manila.

And if I do end up in a Formula Student team, I wouldn’t mind losing. We can fetter with the car after our tenure until it’s weapons-grade.

Are you planning on doing some “this is it” kind of stuff or some more general all in one kind of stuff? In the first case, just drop me an email on what you might have planned and i’ll avoid putting it in the rest. In the latter case, just let me know when you’re done and I’ll keep on going when you are :)

We have some fairly different taste in cars, i hadn’t even noticed the stuff you’ve covered yet to be honest and there is a shit load of stuff i haven’t even bothered looking at while there. I focused pretty much solely on sporty, racy, weird and ugly stuff haha. I don’t recall seing much Honda stuff of this era either... I honestly wasn’t looking for that either so...

Did you see my message on the frozen lake gymkhana thing mid-february? Interested?

You post what you want to post. We have some overlap, but not a lot. Most of what you posted here is stuff I found gaudy and awful and didn’t bother.

I have a few this is it type posts, some anime related posts, lots of one off blips. Stuff like that.
